Quality Engineer

Summary:

This Position will support the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of a ClimateCraft quality management system designed to provide quality products that meet customer and regulatory requirements while enhancing customer satisfaction through continual improvement.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists Quality Manager in developing and administration of the Quality Management System;
  • Develop, revise, publish, and facilitate training of work instructions and quality standards;
  • Assist in the development and management of a controlled document system;
  • Participate in New Product Development projects;
  • Review designs for quality issues, ensure design corrections are implemented
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal audit programs;
  • Participate in daily quality activities such as MRB, quality training, design review;
  • Participate in development of FMEA’s, Process Flow Diagrams, and Control Plans;
  • Develop and audit quality plans;
  • Work in partnership with suppliers to resolve issues and improve performance;
  • Perform supplier qualification audits as wells as critical supplier annual audits;
  • Engage with Manufacturing Engineers and production personnel to ensure process and product related issues are being analyzed for root cause and the appropriate corrective actions are taken and effective while employing root cause tools such as 8D, DMAIC, Practical Problem Solving;
  • Serve as a liaison with suppliers, customers, and internal company departments on matters related to quality;
  • Provide support and actively participate in continuous improvement projects;
  • Perform other duties as assigned;

Skills & Abilities

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, mechanical or industrial engineering preferred
    • Product design focus preferred
    • Knowledge of statistical analysis beneficial

Computer Skills:

  • Demonstrated skilled use in MS Office;
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling packages beneficial
  • Use of statistical analysis software beneficial

  • none

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, assembly drawings and documentation;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Moderate travel required;
  • Able to adapt to change, is open to new ideas; takes on new responsibilities; handles pressure, adjusts plans to meet changing needs.
